Washington, DC. This week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has made 538 arrests and lodged 373 detainers, the agency said Thursday night.

The news follows allegations that illegal immigrants with criminal histories have been apprehended in Chicago, Newark, Boston, Philadelphia, and New York City, among other major cities nationwide.

The names of the people that were arrested are still under wraps.

Benjamine Huffman, the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, signed two guidelines this week that enable ICE to execute warrants on undocumented migrants in previously sensitive sites, including hospitals, schools, and houses of worship.

The Biden Administration’s instructions for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement operations that impede law enforcement in or around so-called sensitive zones are revoked in the first directive. The second order restores the program to a case-by-case basis and puts an end to the widespread misuse of humanitarian parole. Any parole programs that do not comply with the legislation will be phased out by ICE and CBP. One DHS spokesperson is responsible for the following statement:

This move gives the courageous men and women at CBP and ICE the ability to enforce our immigration laws and apprehend criminal aliens, including rapists and murderers, who have entered our country unlawfully. America’s churches and schools will no longer be places for criminals to hide in order to evade capture. The Trump Administration believes that our courageous law enforcement will exercise common sense and will not restrain them.

1.5 million migrants were arbitrarily permitted to enter our nation by the Biden-Harris Administration through the misuse of the humanitarian parole scheme. On the first day of the Trump Administration, all of this was suspended. The humanitarian parole program will once again examine migrants on an individual basis as a result of this decision.
