Fall River Police Department arrests 4 after man severely assaulted, zip tied

Following a recent incident, Fall River Police made several arrests.

Police say the Patrol Bureau was called to Rocliffe Street on January 14, 2025, after receiving a report of a male bleeding on the ground. The first investigating officer, Officer Anyeric Castillo, saw the victim with zip ties around his wrists and concluded that he had been badly beaten. Officer Castillo continued to get assistance from Detective Frank Reis of the Major Case Division, who was assigned to the case. After concluding that other people were responsible for the victim’s severe beating, including robbery, Detective Reis was able to close the case.

Ailton Lopes, Jonathan Winston, Maria Reyna Rodezno Marin, and Angela Garcia all had warrants obtained by Detective Reis.

Lopes, Garcia, and Reyna Rodezno Marin were apprehended by the Major Case Division on Friday, January 24, 2025.

With the help of the Rockland, Massachusetts Police Department, the Neighborhood Engagement and Enforcement Team (NEET) was able to find Winston in Rockland, Massachusetts on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

On Monday morning, everyone is scheduled to be arraigned in Fall River District Court on the following charges:

Armed kidnapping with a firearm

A&B USING A DANGEROUS WEAPON twice

CONSPIRACY

MASKED AND FIREARMED ROBBERY

FIXING THE EVIDENCE

ARMED MURDER ASSAULT

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Detective Reis, Officer Castillo, and the Major Case Division were honored by FRPD for their efforts in bringing this case to a swift resolution.
