Cybersecdn- A tragic gas explosion at the historic Sandman Hotel in downtown Fort Worth has resulted in multiple injuries and widespread debris. The incident occurred on a busy Monday afternoon, with the first emergency call logged at 3:32 p.m. This calamity injured 21 people, leaving one in critical condition and four others seriously injured.
Witnesses before the explosion reported a smell of gas, a detail that was still evident in the aftermath of the blast. While the exact cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, the immediate aftermath saw debris scattered across the streets, painting a scene of chaos and devastation.
At the time of the explosion, the hotel was operational, with 26 rooms occupied. Remarkably, all individuals who were initially unaccounted for have been found. The investigation into this incident is a collaborative effort involving state and local authorities, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Atmos Energy has taken measures to isolate gas in the affected area.
