The incident, which took place in a Brooklyn apartment building, involved a suspect with a known history of violence. The two officers, veterans of the NYPD, were responding to an assault call when they encountered the suspect. Despite being told to comply, the suspect resisted, leading to a violent struggle.
During the confrontation, the suspect managed to grab one of the officer’s weapons, resulting in shots being fired. One officer was shot in the left hand, and the other in the left thigh. Their injuries, though serious, are not life-threatening, and they are currently receiving treatment.
