The appalling event took place in their 11th-floor apartment located in the 1500 block of Hornell Loop, where police discovered Hyman’s lifeless body and the severely wounded pet.

Authorities allege that Eugene, who previously worked as a paraprofessional at a local Brooklyn school, inflicted 56 stab wounds on his 58-year-old mother, targeting vital areas including her heart. The brutality extended to Gigi, the family poodle, who was not only stabbed multiple times but was also thrown out of the apartment window, landing bloodied and lifeless in front of the building.

Upon their arrival at the scene around 7 p.m. on January 19, law enforcement officers were confronted with a harrowing sight. Eugene was found naked and blood-soaked, claiming that his mother had taken her own life and that the tragic fall of the dog was an accident. Despite these claims, a forensic veterinarian confirmed the deliberate harm inflicted on Gigi, citing multiple stab wounds across the animal’s body.
