CybersecdnLAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. The Walt Disney Company announced its newest class of Dreamers. Out of the thousands of applicants, eight students from Georgia have been chosen to be part of an exclusive group of 100 students who will attend the Disney Dreamers Academy.

The goal of the Disney conference that happens every year is to help kids set goals and build careers. Two of the kids are from the same school for the first time.

“I can’t wait! I’m going to Disney World,” student Hannah Dennis said.

Hannah and Cameryn Pope, a senior at Elite Scholars Academy, are the two lucky students chosen. They both think of themselves as big dreamers.

“As a member of the Clayton County Youth Commission, I work with the young people in my county to hold food drives.” “I helped plan an event called ‘College Isn’t For Me,’ which is meant to show students that there are other options if they don’t want to go to college,” Cameryn said.

Hannah has also planned events that have made her town a better place.

Hanna said, “I used to do something called Hanna Christmas Extravaganza, where I would collect toys and give them to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.”

Both students are also active in several groups and volunteer daily. Because they worked hard and went through a tough application process, they were able to get into the Disney Dreamers Academy class of 2024. The 100 Disney Dreamers will spend four days at Walt Disney World going to workshops and seminars that are meant to help them reach their job goals.

The students will also learn about a lot of different job fields while they are learning important skills like how to communicate, lead others, and network.

Senior Vice President at The Walt Disney Company Tracey Powell said, “It changes your life.” “Being around professionals in the field they are interested in gives them a chance to look for jobs and learn about the options available to them.” They’ll get to meet famous people and other cast members who work at Disney Walt Disney World Resort.

Only 100 kids were chosen from the thousands that applied across the country. Among the eight from Georgia are Hannah Dennis, Riley Kennard, Cameryn Polk, Ellis Schroeder, Bengina Amponsah, Amir Mason, Bianca Orfila-Molinet, and Lillian Farrar.
