Rep. Lauren Boebert Secures Restraining Order Against Ex-husband
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has taken legal action against her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, by filing a temporary restraining order.
According to The Colorado Sun, the congresswoman’s request for the order was promptly granted on Friday.
When submitting the order, Lauren Boebert claimed that her ex-husband had been involved in a range of actions from 2022 up until Friday, such as verbally insulting her, repeatedly harassing her over the phone, and engaging in harmful behavior towards children in the household.
She filed the order following an alleged incident involving a threat to property, which prompted a police response.
The order also ensures the well-being of three of the former couple’s four sons.
The incident on Friday was confirmed by The Colorado Sun, who obtained information from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. It occurred when the congresswoman was trying to retrieve some belongings she had left at her former residence with Jason.
HuffPost attempted to contact Lauren Boebert for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
Last May, Lauren and Jayson Boebert made the announcement that they were ending their marriage of almost 18 years. Since then, they have faced numerous difficulties.
Allegations of Threats Surface in Boebert Divorce
After the divorce was made public, Jayson Boebert faced allegations of threatening the process server who attempted to serve him with divorce papers. However, his ex-wife refuted these claims.
In connection with an incident between the couple at a local restaurant, he was arrested last month for third-degree criminal trespass, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
Lauren has faced her fair share of challenges too. In September, her actions during a stage performance of “Beetlejuice” caused quite a stir. A video captured her engaging in inappropriate behavior and distracting from the show.
