A wig left at the scene of a murder in September helped police find a woman in Tennessee who they say killed her client with a knife while she was working as a prostitute.
Nile Ward, who is 26 years old, was being held at the Orleans Parish Justice Center on Wednesday on a charge of second-degree murder. Ward was taken by U.S. Marshals in Memphis on November 1. On November 28, she was sent to New Orleans and booked into jail.
On the morning of September 25, police went to the scene at Old Gentilly Road and Reynes Street, close to Plum Orchard. They found Bradley Dolliole, 39, dead in his car after stabbing him.
According to papers made in Criminal District Court by the New Orleans Police Department, a used condom was found under Dolliole’s arm. A black wig with purple streaks and a small purse with makeup and condoms were also found nearby. It was also said that Dolliole’s phone was found a block away in a patch of tall grass.
The phone records of Dolliole show that he called Ward after seeing the number on the internet. They talked about the cost, location, and availability of condoms for a “car date.” According to the police, Dolliole also asked Ward for a picture to make sure she was the woman from the website. She sent a selfie of herself wearing the purple-streaked black wig that was later found in Dolliole’s car.
Dolliole and Ward were seen together in a parking lot on Chef Menteur Highway on the night of September 24. At 10:55 p.m., she got into his car, according to the police.
Later, less than thirty minutes later, Ward was seen running away from the crime scene on Chef Menteur and toward a Rodeway Inn. This time, Ward’s hair was shorter. Police say that the hotel records there gave them her name.
Ward’s bail was set at $500,000 by Magistrate Commissioner Peter Hamilton. In 2007, Dolliole was found guilty of aggravated sexual abuse in Texas. He had a record of sex crimes in Louisiana.
