AMC is undertaking a review following the random stabbing of four females inside a Massachusetts movie theater
The movie theater chain AMC announced that it is carrying out a “thorough review” following the stabberies of four girls inside a Braintree location, which appeared to be an isolated incident.
The attacker at AMC Braintree 10 on Saturday night is accused of being 26-year-old Jared Ravizza. According to the police, Ravizza attacked four teenage girls who were in the theater for a showing of “IF” after breaking in without paying.
About an hour later, Ravizza is also accused of stabbing two persons at a Plymouth McDonald’s. After an accident in Sandwich, he was taken into custody.
Mother claims that at first, AMC staff did not respond
The mother of three of the AMC stabbing victims, Lisa Dembowski, claimed that when the girls reported the stabbing, staff members at first did nothing.
“They said they all went out, they told the people at AMC, the AMC didn’t believe them, didn’t do anything, actually, and they had to call the police themselves,” Dembowski stated.
“Thorough review” being conducted by AMC
AMC announced in a statement to WBZ-TV that it is speaking with the affected families in private.
“At all of our locations, AMC has multiple security features and procedures in place, the specifics of which we do not disclose or discuss publicly,” according to a spokeswoman. “We’ve already started working through this issue in detail. Reported by theater associates and captured on camera, the theater crew acted swiftly, contacting emergency authorities and providing assistance to the victims.”
AMC states that a visible security presence will be present at the Braintree store “for the immediate future.”
Connecticut-based inquiry
According to sources, WBZ I-Team Ravizza is also wanted in relation to a Connecticut murder investigation that is taking on in Deep River. Following a complaint of a disturbance on Saturday afternoon, a body was discovered there.
According to the neighbors, the house had two guys and two dogs residing in it. They also think the pets are deceased. “It is quite depressing. It seems unreal. It’s a human life, after all,” a neighbor from Connecticut remarked.
Ravizza is being held without release
After leaving South Shore Hospital, Jared Ravizza is being held without bond. His court date is set for Tuesday.
Dembowski wants justice to be served. Dembowski remarked, “I hope he gets what he deserves.”
