Just before 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11th, Stoughton Police were called to an apartment building on Buckley Road in response to a report of an overnight car break-in.

Another local called the police later that day to say that their wallet had been stolen and that their car had been broken into. In Brockton, the victim’s debit card was used at Speedway and CVS.

Stoughton Police received a separate report of a car break-in at the apartment complex one week prior, on December 4. A resident stated that their debit card was used at a CVS and that their wallet had been stolen.

Following an investigation, authorities were able to collect security footage showing a man in Grinch pajamas using the Stoughton-stolen debit card. The same man was implicated in both a car theft and a credit card fraud at an Avon Walmart, according to the investigation.
