Fall River man accused of drug trafficking several kilos of cocaine from California to Massachusetts

Justin Dupras, 42, was charged by criminal complaint with one count of attempting to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute, according to the Massachusetts Department of Justice. At a later time, Dupras will appear in U.S. District Court in Boston.

The criminal complaint claims that on December 17, 2024, Dupras mailed a box containing roughly two kilograms of cocaine from a Los Angeles, California, Post Office to Fall River, Massachusetts. After that, Dupras went back to Massachusetts and drove to the Fall River Post Office on December 19, 2024. Another person gave Dupras the cocaine-containing package after signing for it.

Additionally, according to the criminal document, Dupras allegedly sent cocaine-containing parcels from California to Massachusetts on several previous instances. For instance, Dupras shipped a package carrying over two kilograms of cocaine from Chino Hills, California to Fall River, Massachusetts, on September 17, 2024. Dupras shipped a package containing roughly two kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles, California, to Fall River, Massachusetts, on October 29, 2024. According to flight records, Dupras mailed the two items the same day he returned to Massachusetts.

Attempting to possess cocaine with the purpose to distribute carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison, a maximum fine of $1,000,000, and a maximum term of supervised release of up to life. A federal district court judge will impose sentences based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory considerations.
