Cybersecdn- In a recent U.S. House of Representatives hearing titled “The Biden Administration’s Regulatory and Policymaking Efforts to Undermine U.S. Immigration Law,” a Florida lawmaker made a dramatic proposal. During the discussion of H.R. 2, the “Secure the Border Act” which aims to continue building a wall along the U.S. southern border, Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., labeled the bill as bigoted.

Frost, the youngest member of Congress, criticized the bill, invoking Irving Berlin’s poem “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor” inscribed on the Statue of Liberty. He accused H.R. 2 proponents of hypocrisy and proposed a bill to remove the Statue of Liberty, symbolizing the U.S.’s rejection of its immigrant-welcoming stance.
