The culprits, who remain at large, have shown a distinct pattern in their criminal activities, predominantly targeting high-value Apple headphones. In a daring escalation of their usual modus operandi, they also reportedly stole a motorcycle in one of their heists.
The police disclosed that these perpetrators employ a variety of modes of transport including motorcycles, Citi Bikes, e-bikes, and mopeds, to approach their targets swiftly and escape. This mobility has enabled them to strike across diverse neighborhoods, leaving residents of Forest Hills, Astoria, Long Island City, Greenwich Village, East Village, and Gramercy Park in a state of apprehension.
