Following a multi-vehicle collision, Massachusetts State Police have made one arrest and are looking for two more.
Tim McGuirk of Massachusetts State Police said that at around 11:30 a.m., State Police were pursuing a car that had not stopped for them on Route 24 South close to exit 35 in Brockton. In moderate traffic, troopers saw the car moving at almost 100 miles per hour. Troopers stopped pursuing the car as it got closer to exit 33.
The car wrecked at Brockton’s first intersection at North Pearl Street after hitting another car after exiting. Three males got out of the car and ran away from the collision site.
One of the males was captured by State Police after a brief foot pursuit, and he was taken into jail while the other two subjects were searched. To help with the continuing search, State Police officers from Troops H and D, the Air Wing, the K9 Unit, and the Gang Unit deployed.
The State Police are still looking into the situation.
According to McGuirk, a later update will reveal the subjects’ identities and charges.
