One of the main problems with domestic dogs is dog abandonment, which is an indirect form of animal cruelty.
Alone and terrified, stray dogs are condemned to horrible conditions, and to make matters worse, many of these dogs do not survive on their own.
In Missouri, a dog was seen fending for himself beside a public dumpster after being chained to a fence with a shoestring. A good-hearted woman noticed the dog trembling and searching with sorrowful eyes for assistance, but all he received in return was ignorance.
Scared And In Urgent Need Of A Loving Home
In order to avoid disappointing the abandoned puppy, the woman, who was at the time putting out the trash, called Stray Rescue of Saint Louis for assistance. She then waited with the puppy until aid arrived.
Although no one was certain how the puppy got to be resting on an old couch close to a public dumpster—clearly abandoned by his family—he was obviously shocked and had the saddest eyes imaginable!
Before a big-hearted woman lavished him with a small amount of care and tenderness, he shuddered in dread.
SRST To The Rescue
Following the call, the SRST team showed up to get the puppy, who was subsequently (symbolicly) given the name Shoestring!
According to SRST staff member Natalie Thompson, the dog was anxious when they first saw him and most obviously needed a softer approach!
Despite all of the anxiety and dread, Shoestring was unable to conceal the fact that he was the cutest lovebird ever!
A kind woman located him and remained with him until we got there. We gave him a name.Shoestring.On its official Facebook page, the SRST team commented, “He’s scared (rightfully so!) but VERY sweet.”
The Lovebug With Just The Saddest Eyes Ever
Shoestring received food and a veterinary examination shortly after being brought into the facility. And on top of all that, the crew lavished this little, sad-eyed lovebug with love!
It seemed as though he quickly moved past his difficult times and began cuddling with everyone who showed him some love and attention. He simply enjoyed cradling in the volunteers’ consoling embrace! Furthermore, his eyes are very endearing!
Shoestring was sent to a foster home by the SRST team due to the facility’s capacity issues, where he got all the love and attention he sorely needed! The plan was to postpone placing him for adoption until he was ready for neutering.
For his future pawrents, the SRST team just asked that they already had a playful dog so that Shoestring could play to the best of his abilities!
He simply enjoys people and dogs, but his caregivers didn’t want to pass up the chance to find him a good home because he seems like a great sibling!
Shoestring has undoubtedly discovered his furry paradise by now, where he engages in daily adventures and enjoys a variety of games with his devoted family!
