EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 42-year-old man from Arizona was killed in a motorcycle accident in Las Cruces late Saturday night, December 16.
Las Cruces Police and Fire were called to North Main Street near Oban Court around 10:40 p.m. Saturday for a report of a motorbike accident. When the first responders got there, they saw a motorcycle that had fallen and the driver of it had what was called “critical injuries.”
The biker, whose name was Jesse Kelly, and was 42 years old and from Arizona, was taken to a nearby hospital but died there from his injuries.
Traffic police say Kelly lost control of his motorbike as he went north on Main Street around a curve. The motorbike went through the middle of the road north of Oban Court. Police say Kelly was thrown off the motorcycle and fell on the concrete near the middle of the road.
The biker had a helmet on.
Traffic officials think that speed and alcohol probably played a role in the crash.
There were no other cars involved.
