U.S. Closes Rail Bridges to Mexico Because of Rising Migrant Trafficking!

U.S. border agents have done something that has never been done before: they have shut down two important rail bridges that help move goods between Texas and Mexico. This is because of an increase in the number of migrants being brought into the U.S. by trains traveling through Mexico.

The latest in a series of planned border closures, this move was just announced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This is being done so that police resources can be redistributed. This is necessary because the number of migrants is growing quickly, which is making things more difficult for the government.

Following CBP’s ruling, the international railroad crossing bridges in Eagle Pass and El Paso will be closed for a short time. “Redirect personnel to assist the U.S. Border Patrol with taking migrants into custody,” as CBP put it, is the reason for this transition.

Through a press release, the agency clarified, “After closely monitoring a recent resurgence of smuggling organizations transporting migrants through Mexico via freight trains, CBP is undertaking additional measures to bolster personnel levels and address this troubling trend, in collaboration with Mexican authorities.”

As the situation along the U.S.-Mexico border has changed, these new closures are part of a pattern that has formed. A pedestrian entrance in San Diego and a car crossing in Eagle Pass were also closed for a short time. The Lukeville port of entry in Arizona was also closed.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs did something that had never been done before: she sent National Guard troops to the border with Mexico because the Lukeville port of entry was closed. There were a lot of worries about public safety and the flow of trade after the U.S. federal government decided to close the port, according to Governor Hobbs.

Authorities in the United States are working harder than ever to deal with the many problems that have come up because of the large number of migrants crossing the line between the United States and Mexico. Another important part of the ongoing reaction to these problems is the closing of these important transportation links.
