The National Park Service in the United States has announced a series of free admission days, making it easier for everyone to experience the country’s natural and historical treasures.
This year, there’s a bonus to the usual free entry days. The first of these days is in January, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Colorado, home to thirteen national parks, sites, and monuments, offers a diverse range of experiences.
From the towering dunes of the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve to the prehistoric wonders of the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and the extensive hiking trails of the Rocky Mountain National Park, there’s something for every outdoor enthusiast.

- April 20 – First Day of National Park Week
- June 19 – Juneteenth National Independence Day
- August 4 – Great Americans Outdoor Act Anniversary
- September 28 – National Public Lands Day
- November 11 – Veterans Day
