CybersecdnNew York City has been shaken by a series of brazen burglaries perpetrated by an individual masquerading as an Amazon delivery worker. Over several months, this imposter has managed to pilfer a staggering $35,000 worth of cash, jewelry, and other valuable items from unsuspecting residents.

The suspect, captured on surveillance video donning an Amazon delivery vest, is believed to be responsible for a string of nine burglaries and break-ins across the neighborhoods of Astoria, Sunnyside, and Long Island City. In a disturbing twist, one of the victims of these crimes was a 12-year-old girl who had been diligently saving her money, only to have it cruelly stolen.

In one particularly egregious incident on February 28th, the thief brazenly entered a home in Sunnyside through a window and made off with approximately $9,000 in cash, along with $1,800 worth of unspecified property. The victim, a single mother named Estrla Islas, recounted the harrowing experience, expressing her shock and dismay at the loss of her hard-earned savings.

Despite the best efforts of law enforcement, the perpetrator remains at large, posing an ongoing threat to the safety and security of the community. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.

The magnitude of the thefts underscores the importance of taking proactive measures to protect one’s home and belongings. Simple precautions such as installing security cameras, fortifying entry points, and forming neighborhood watch groups can help deter would-be burglars and ensure the safety of residents.
