Following an incident at a Massachusetts police station over the weekend, a lady from Plymouth County was taken into custody.

Chief Michael Carbone reports that on Saturday, Officer McElroy was inside the police station when he noticed a car driving over the station’s front lawn. Officers Kent and McElroy arrived right away to look into the matter. The car was stopped on the lawn by Officer McElroy using his police cruiser.

Officers recognized the driver as Karen Birolini, 57, of Pembroke, as they approached the car. Birolini had no idea what town she was in or that she had drove over the lawn of the police station.

Birolini was taken into custody after authorities made observations and administered multiple Field Sobriety Tests.

OUI Liquor, Negligent Motor Vehicle Operation, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Marked Lanes Violation were the charges brought against Birolini.

Birolini was released on her own recognizance after entering a not guilty plea at her arraignment on Monday.

On February 21st, she will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing.
