Police say a drunk Florida man stole a school bus and drove four hours to Miami

Police claimed a man from Florida went on a wild Saturday night excursion, allegedly stealing a school bus while intoxicated and driving to Miami.

Daniel Saez, 32, of Land O’ Lakes was charged with grand theft auto on Sunday, FOX 13 Tampa Bay reported.

The bus belongs to Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) informed the source that it was stolen on Saturday night.

After that, Saez took the car to Miami, which is around 280 miles away from Tampa. The drive takes roughly four hours.

According to the FHP, the suspect was stopped in Sarasota. He informed the authorities that he was returning the stolen bus from Miami to Tampa.

About 60 miles separate Sarasota from Tampa.

The defendant was allegedly intoxicated and under the influence of drugs when the theft occurred, and he has acknowledged to taking the bus.

Saez was taken into custody and lodged in a county jail.

When Fox News Digital contacted FHP for more details, they did not receive a response right away.
