You can’t truly understand the value of rescue dogs as companions until you adopt one!
When they meet the proper person, nearly all of these four-legged furballs turn out to be the sweetest creatures, regardless of their prior traumas, hardships, or even restless nights spent outside.
Here’s exhibit A, Ollie!
For days, this poor Pittie was confined to an abandoned Missouri school, and no one could hear his frantic pleas for assistance.
Even still, Ollie’s hope was the last thing he was losing. Just by looking through the window, you could tell that this incredible boy was eager to see his savior—until the day finally arrived!
Patiently Waiting For Days For Someone To Notice Him
One of the worst moments in Donna Lochmann’s career as a giant-hearted dog rescuer for Stray Rescue of St. Louis was likely witnessing Ollie looking through a broken window on the second floor.
All he could do was sit there and wait for someone to notice his glittering eyes and silent cries from the street. And then Donna arrived!
No one knows how he got stuck in an abandoned school, but Donna was taken aback when she eventually made it inside.
For days, this Pittie was genuinely subsisting on glass fragments and rubbish heaps. He was left with freezing, deserted classrooms full of trash instead of adequate food, water, or a comfortable place to sleep on.
Jumping Into His Savior s Arms
Over the course of her work, Donna has encountered numerous dogs and dealt with a variety of behavioral issues. When she went into the school in search of Ollie, she was therefore more than ready for the worst.
She wasn’t really sure how the dog, who had been living alone for a long, would respond to a guest, but when she went up to him, Ollie’s reaction astounded her!As though he had been waiting for her to save him all along, this gentle Pittie literally melted into her arms.
It was obvious that it was not an aggressive position. “In the end, this dog didn’t have any aggressive bones,” Donna Lochmann adds.
He was so kind and kind that he had no trouble letting Donna walk him. This large boi then gave himself up into her lap, allowing her to give him the most tender cuddles imaginable.
He was eventually taken to the facility for additional recuperation when Donna and the other members of the team lowered him through the window.
The good news is that Ollie didn’t sustain any injuries. He became great friends with every person at the shelter after falling in love with the staff right away. The nicest part was that he didn’t have to wait long for his furry family to arrive!
Ollie Can t Stop Smiling In A New Home
After seeing Ollie’s social media narrative, Cassie and her partner decided they wanted to adopt the puppy right away!
“We fell in love right away after my friend sent us the rescue video,” Cassie explains.
The three of them were destined to be together, as evidenced by their initial encounter.He proved to be the biggest lovebug of all, and Ollie was ecstatic to meet his new homeboys!
He doesn’t recall feeling alone, afraid, and hungry at that school. The SRSL team said on Facebook that all he knows is what’s happening right now and that he is SPOILED.
He quickly adjusted to his new surroundings and is currently enjoying his time with his new parents!Every day he makes new pals, goes for walks, sleeps in the same bed as them, and gets the nicest belly rubs ever!
Ollie, who was once a dog living in a building that had been abandoned, is now a brand-new Pittie who is going on wonderful adventures with his devoted pawrents!
